Odd One On E-Mails

Not sure if anybody can shed any light on this but I'll give it a go.
I use an American e-mail provider, a legacy of living over there), just the e-account - too much hassle to change over!
Basic thing is through a BT router and Google (Microsoft 10), about every 2-8 hours (varies), it reverts to the home page (information/news in the States and their service buttons)....I hit their e-button and through it goes to load up the e-mails, my password in the system.
Today, I get a message - 'We are working to enhance your experience!' - then there are three boxes for the major buttons after the text 'You can still access your important information through the links below. Thank you for your patience.'. I press on the e-button but it won't go through and just comes back to this page, an in-between page showing for microseconds.....
The url then shows (provider).net/gdpr a url that the company doesn't recognise but could be something this side of the Pond....... on their side, my e-mail is working okay.....
Anybody any ideas to what the blockage could be - it's almost as if it is looping. Could it be a Microsoft behind-scenes update messing things up?
The American support team is bamboozled as well.....

Such as the Windows 10 Mail app that you've already got available to you (rather basic) or Thunderbird (fully-featured):

You simply need to configure the client to receive mail from your email provider's server, without you ever going anywhere near their web page.

Does your email provider have an app for your phone?
You don't have to change your address if you use an app or email program.
Have a look and see if your email provider offers IMAP (or POP access - imap is better). If it does, then you just need to use that settings in an email program or app. With IMAP your mail is stored on the server - so no matter what device you use you willalways see your email. With POP your email is taken from the server and stored on whatever device you used - thus multiple devices would see differences.)
