I heard today that the Darling Buds of May is to return to our screens again after a remake. Bradley Walsh will be playing Pop Larkin. I wonder who will get the part of Mariette? Any suggestions?

sounds promising, I wonder who will play Ma
C Z-J will be a hard act to follow, very easy on the eye...
anne from the Chase could play Ma, lol
Dawn French for Ma.
I don’t think that it will matter who plays what,
I don’t think it will be as good as the original,
I like Bradley Walsh,but as pop Larkin?no I don’t think so,but there again what do I know?

I like the suggestion of Dawn French, yes.
I can’t see Walsh as Pa. I like him on The Chase, but don’t rate him as an actor.
no she isn't half as good as she thinks she is...
that was about Dawn French

How about Ann Haggerty, the governess from The Chase then as Ma? That would be a sight for sore eyes! LOL

Or Miriam Margoylees?
I would never watch a re-make of any film or series but that awful crude, rude Miriam Margargoyle would be a no no for me in any case.
At least I still have the free complete set of the series issued some years back by the Daily Mail.
Oh don't be such a snowflake RC, she's great.

Not that I'd watch a remake of DBoM anyway, I didn't much like the original. It was all a bit twee for my tastes.
Ye gods, I cannot think of anyone less suited to playing Pop Larkin. I've read all the books (the last one was never filmed in the David Jason version) and Bradley Walsh - a limited actor to say the least - would be a travesty in the part.
I wonder who cast him; probably the same numpty that thought he should be in Doctor Who.
He should stick to The Chase - he's good in that.
Fed up of remakes.
Lisa Riley for Ma perhaps.
Load of carp the first time around so no doubt this will be the same. Love Grumpy x
i used to like the original... but not sure about a remake, what's the point..
I can perhaps understand the remake of some old films that would benefit from new technology and CGI such as sci fi and fantasy but not bog standard tv series from 25 years ago. There must be new material available.
Bradley Walsh?? Oh dear god lol
