I would say Rufus Sewell or Mark Strong but they are both too old. If the next one is successful then they would want another 3/4/5 films out of him which at the rate of a film every couple of years could be up to eight years. Need someone aged 35-40 yrs max. On that basis I would go for James Norton.

No to Idris Elba and Richard Madden. Had to look up Daniel Mays as I'd never heard of him and he has got a good face for radio but Bond? No way. Canadian actor called Andrew Walker would also be on my short list.
