More Equality Needed.

Due to me being a neo-liberal equal rights champion, I am confident the next James Bond and/or Doctor Who will come from an ethnic background. If I am wrong, it shows we still live in a racist society.
Both castings should be named in the coming months so let's hope for this positive change.
There are 6 regular characters in MI6 throughout the James Bond series (Bond, M, Q, Felix(CIA), Miss Moneypenny and Tanner. Only 2 are ethnic - Felix and Miss Moneypenny, and one is gay - Q. We need a black Bond now!!!
We have never had a black Doctor Who.

Its so over the top macho and frankly misogynist, there is no way a woman could play that role convincingly. As for Dr. Who -Jodie Foster was terrible, not because she was a woman, she was just terrible full stop. The black woman who played the 'alternative' Dr. Who in a couple of episodes would be the obvious choice for me.

Naomi, the difference between Kunte Kinte and James Bond is that for the former, his ethnicity is essential to the character and plot of Roots. For Bond, his ethnicity is irrelevant.
Of course you are correct that many other actors have the ability and charisma to play the role, but while someone like Idris shouldn't get the role because of his colour, it shouldn't rule him out either.
