I only started watching last week on AB recommendation.
Binged from Series 1.
It is brilliant.
Anyone know whereabouts in Cumbria it's filmed? I know where the Manchester school is and obviously I recognise when they film in Manchester town, but my brother lives in Cumbria and he wondered where it was filmed there.
Found this out on line

//Filming locations: Where is The A Word set? This six-part drama series is set in a fictional Cumbrian town and was filmed in locations around the Lake District. That includes Keswick, Coniston, Thirlmere, Buttermere and Kendal. Keswick is a market town in the Lake District National Park.//

and //4 May 2020 · The key locations used for filming are Keswick, the Lake District market town that is surrounded by the stunning mountains of Skiddaw, and Coniston, a Cumbrian village in the Furness region. The show also shoots scenes in Thirlmere, a reservoir in the Borough of Allerdale.//

And//The location used for the desirable Fellside is a barn on the land that makes up High Bridge End Farm near Thirlmere in the Lake District. The barn is located just off the A591 going from Thirlmere to Keswick and is a few hundred metres northwest of the High Bridge End Camping and Caravan site.27 May 2020//
I've been a fan of Christopher Ecclestone since he was in Cracker. His last scene in that still sticks in my mind.

Thought the last in the series was excellent. I wonder if they will make any more, the BBC haven't confirmed as yet, but I certainly hope so.
