Very peculiar comment by Hans. Yes, there are 2 openly gay judges in Bruno and Craig, and there have been many openly gay dancers including Ian Waite, Robin Windsor and Johannes Radebe , so is it really that strange to have 2 people of the same sex dancing together?
Its time we didn't need gay clubs; or the term, openly gay. Lets be more realistic, representative and tolerant of our society as it is. Same sex couples can shop together, live together, marry either other, run businesses and public services; why on earth should they not be able to dance together on Strictly?
however perhaps this will only help to illustrate that in most if not all dancing meets there is usually more ladies single ladies than single men waiting for a dance . So they may dance with each other as is sometimes the case . plus they may think they are being a bit forward asking a strange man for a dance
//I'm not sure Mozz, I just can't get my head round it at all - is there an element of fear do you think?//
Fear of what exactly? Being gay isn't a stick to beat people with in thos day and age. It's perfectly normal and perfectly acceptable. Anybody thinking otherwise are living in a bygone age.
Mozz, some young males may think they've lost the possibility of appearing on Strictly because another woman has taken a place usually allotted to a male. My heart goes out to them.

Do we know that they have "lost a place"? Nicola Adams was anounced in a two girls/two boys post by the BBC, so it seems that she's part of the girls allocation. If you're talking about a male pro dancer, I'm sure that there are plenty of opportunities out there if they aretalented enough.
