Never ever watched STRICTLY.
No interest in twirly whirly dancing nor in so called 'celebs' and trust the BBC to jump on a same sex titter titter giggle giggle ain't they cute poor things and one of them is even black bandwagon 20 years after the event. Watch the ratings all fall down.
Might not those diehard 'Strictly' fans who are against it, not just go and put the kettle on when same sex couple are dancing? Instead of cutting their noses off to spite their faces by boycotting the prog altogether.
We'll have to wait and see what it does to ratings, I guess, but why this should be regarded as about only pleasing minorities is anybody's guess. The novelty/shock will quickly wear off, I'm sure. And, in any case, if the opposite of pleasing minorities is being a slave to tradition then I'd prefer the former, thanks.
I don't quite think pleasing minorities is opposite to being a slave to tradition, but I agree with the sentiment - there's no reason it shouldn't please the majority too. In fact, probably the people who are displeased are probably in the minority!
I suppose im being a little sexist, but I dont mind watching women dance kiss or anything else, and whilst I am not against gays in anyway, I dont like to see it on show, and two guys kissing, I find it quite stomach churning!!
