Pleased to see the BBC has bitten the bullet and got rid of these three - the show had become tired a long, long time ago. Talk about money for old rope, they were all no doubt on thousands a show for a jokey parlour game. I wonder who they'll ask....

perhaps they should axe it altogether....
Anyone remember when it first started, Cliff Morgan and Henry Cooper were team captains?
I used to like AQOS because I love sport and quizzes. But yes, time to go. It was trying to be like ‘A League of Their Own’ but not quite managing it.
Matt was a bit creepy; arms all over everyone. Get off!
I have vague memories of Henry Cooper Dave, but clear ones of Bill Beaumont and Emlyn Hughes.
I wait to see whether BAME will now sway the new team.
Now if we follow it up with a few of the well past sell by soaps we will be on a run.
In 1995, it was believed that “they think it’s all over” was the natural successor to a question of sport, and it was only a matter of time before it was pulled. yet when “they think...” ended after 11 years, QoS was still there and still going.
The less I see and hear of Matt Dawson the better.
Also, who was the first regular question master on Q of S and secondly who did the pilot show?
He has a new 'comedy' half hour slot on Radio 4, Mozz, its dire stuff.
Wonder just how much some of the vitriol aimed at Gary Lineker is because of his views on things such as immigration, etc? I occasionally watch MOTD and, in my most humble of opinions, i think he makes a decent fist of presenting the programme. I find him totally unoffensive and knowledgeable and i enjoy the friendly banter with the two other great England strikers, Wright and Shearer. What he does away from the MOTD chair has no relevance on his presentation skills. IMHO, of course.
It went downhill after Stuart Hall stopped presenting it.
I like QOS, it's the only proper sports quiz, knocks all the others into a cocked hat. They should leave it alone, the current line up is fine.
Stuart Hall never presented it.
David Vine, David Colman, Sue Barker.
// Stuart Hall never presented it. //

er, yes he did. the BBC ran a pilot but only in the north-west, in 1968.
//I wait to see whether BAME will now sway the new team.//

You need to wait???? It'll be the wokey-wokey show.
Spot on Mushroom,I wondered if anyone would remember.David Vine was indeed the first regular QM.Furthermore Ray Stubbs(remember him) was a question writer at one time.
From the article about Sue Barker leaving:-
//The first episode was broadcast on 5 January 1970 and the series has only had three hosts in the last 50 years - David Vine, David Coleman and Sue Barker.//
Pilot show was probably in 1969 then.It was probably only shown in the North West.
