Stan and Hilda had some great lines e.g when he asked her what her lipstick tasted of and she replied, 'Woman, Stanley, woman!'

I agree with jj, Brookside was my favourite soap too. Was devastated when it finished! Could never understand why everybody liked Blanche, I couldn't stand her - acid tongued old bat that she was! I used to love Jack and Vera, doubt there'll ever be anyone like those two again. Loved the scene when Jack died and Vera came back for him and they danced. My favourite characters now are Tim and Sally.
