I wd have a badly tested vaccine as i think in my co hort it is worth the risk
that is - the risk of getting covid and croaking is much greater than a vaccine reaction
but that is not the same as wheeling it out for everyone pronto - women and kids last
sputnik the russian vaccine has reaction rates of 1:300 they say and that also the govt is lying about it

// All those mums who took Thalidomide are idiots too then?//
I think TTT is still talking about Nobel prizes ....
thalidomide is - - different - it was a drug and not a vaccine and marketed as a drug for vomiting in pregnancy. at the time - drugs damaging the fetus were unthinkable - it would be like an abortifacient - makes the baby go away and there wasnt one

//One wonders if the non-vaccinated would be allowed to continue in certain jobs, though.//
OG - yes that's my thought too. In fact id go one further and wonder if within time, the unvaccinated will not be able to do LOTS of things if the vaccinated wld get preferential incentives, (ie able to get medical treatment faster than non vaccinated) and preferential education opportunities.
So although the vaccine won't be compulsory it will be alot more difficult to cope financially without it.
It sounds far fetched but then again who would have believed a few months ago that we'd all be wearing masks. at

// This version of the virus will mutate.//
ish
we dont know
mutations are closely followed in this one
so far - SNPs (*) which are small but CAN have a gt effect.
so the clever doctors have concentrated on stable portion of the virus DNA ( some bit mutate faster than others) - and near what is thought to be the binding site
so we really will have to wait and see

//nailit if you think the flu vac is safe then why won't you have it?//
A case of turning the tables?
1) if I was older I would think about it and might think differently
2) I hardly have so much as a cold anyway
3) I dont (at present) put much store in vacs
Woof, why would you have a drug test like Covid vax that hasnt been trialled properly?
(Like thalidomide wasnt)

regarding the covid vac, you are making assumptions that it won't be tested properly...that it won't be safe. Saying "It takes years to find a reliable vaccine" takes no account of the fact that we know much more now about vaccine production and about how to understand viruses generally. Medicine really does stride on and at an accelerated pace...and this time its not just one lab or company working but global project.
