Watched BBC at about 8 am today and a 91 year old chap who lost his wife of 70 years back in March this year, due to Covid, said he was "very lonely, lonely". The chap interviewing him then asked him "Are you lonely ?". Where do they get these people from !! Amazing.

I would only add to what andy-hughes has said. It is a terribly difficult job Of course, interviewers sometimes say an inappropriate thing. It's a wonder that they don't do it more often.
Do you not think the world might be a better place if we were all slightly less judgemental and that we were more understanding?
Is this the one where they're asking people to send him a card? It's quite close to me.
Naomi, I can only repeat what I have said, formats vary, and it's unfair to assume that all interviewers grandstand because a poor few do so.

You can tar any group with the same brush, but that's not an assurance of accuracy.
