There must be thousands of viewers who watch this programme. I switched it off after less than five minutes. When I was about 10, I might have found the vulgarity and the rude words funny - but that would have been several decades ago. What is its appeal?

Some friends of mine were huge fans and loved the adlibbing. They went to see the live show and enjoyed it so much they went again.
They were hugely disappointed to find the 'adlibbing' and corpsing was exactly the same in the second live show as the first and they haven't watched it since.
Brendan O'Carroll is the ultimate professional and rules his show with an iron fist.

You're right Mexi - I can remember that OMR was a programme but I dont remember anything about it. I was kust throwing in my two pennorth. :-)

It is a bit like Old Mother Riley. Both men dressed as older Irish women for laughs, both have their real life wives play their on-screen daughters, both characters were devised by the actors who played them.
Mrs Brown is just a lot more vulgar and foul mouthed than Mother Riley.
