You are dismissing someone because of a preconceived idea based on circumstantial knowledge on your side, without giving them the chance to convince you otherwise. David Attenborough has said similar things about climate change. Would you listen to him instead, or are you going to continue singing "la-la-la" with your fingers in your ears?

pixie - // Andy... it seems only you who isn't focusing on her message... because you are concentrating more on the age of consent (random!). //
It's not the age of consent - she could be ten years old, the point is the same, my perception is that she is maniuplated for her 'novelty' value as a teenager who is being touted as having answers that no-one else has, or that she is listened to by young people simply because she is young herself, and again, that is a facile position to take.
// And deciding she has a mental condition. //
I repeat - careless and unacceptable wording, and again I offer my apologies.

Mozz - // You are dismissing someone because of a preconceived idea based on circumstantial knowledge on your side, without giving them the chance to convince you otherwise. //
I am dismissing her, because anything she may say that actually chimes with reality and proven science is hidden behind a miasma of hype and grandiose posturing in the way she is presented as a modern day Joan Of Arc.

David Attenborough has seen more of this planet than most people alive, and has been an informed and deeply knowlegeable scientist for over sixty years, so funnily enough, no I wouldn't.

Mozz - // I find that the absolute height of arrogance that you value the messenger above the message. //
Then your irony is as high as my 'arrogance' - I don't 'value the messenger' at all, which is somewhat the point I am hammering at - that is the entire edifice underpinning Ms Thunburg's public persona - she IS the message - even though she personally may not wish to be.
