Just a nice unexptional, slow, typically English film not designed in anyway to get you to the edge of your seats.

We watched it last night & enjoyed it. I always look out for anachronisms in films set in the past. The stoneware bottle Mrs Pretty used to water the flowers on her husband's grave was a contemporary ginger beer bottle & bang on, I thought the boy's hat made of aluminium foil was too early, but surprisingly having just checked I find foil was invented even earlier. I’ve read a fair few review of this and the general consensus seems to be the same as you Sqad..unexceptional, unremarkable but a ‘nice’ film.
Think we’ll give it a go this afternoon as it’s wet, grey and miserable here, so a cuppa and an easy watch film will be just the ticket.
Hope you’re feeling brighter today Sqad.
