A decent ending, which I didn't see coming (neither did she apparently).
I knew that it wouldn't be the Pakistani DCI, that wouldhave caused riots in the streets.
Good series, well acted...congratulations.
I was going to record Unforgotten and watch it after the Jack Charlton documentary. However, knowing that i would find the docu a tad poignant, i decided to do the reverse:-( Went from one level of sadness over the death of a much loved fictional character to a different level of sadness over the death of a much loved real life (bigger than life) character.
Nor did I. Very sad it has ended so well acted and such good story lines. Such rubbish on the tv these days makes a change to have such an excellent series, I will miss it.
I think we sometimes take our scriptwriters for granted. "Excellent series," we cry in unison, "give us more." Trouble is, the well of creativity begins to run dry to the point of going the way of ridiculous storylines, a-la Eastenders, Corrie, Emmerdale, etc.
Much, much better to end on a high.
I wonder why they decided to kill her off. Was it the actress that wanted out? I see no reason why another series could not be made, with a new DCI being introduced. It's a great format, but I have to admit Nichola Walker really, really, gets on my nerves as an actress. She seems to play the same dithering character in whatever she's in and always looks like she needs a good wash.
I am glad that APG has made that comment about Nicholas Walker as she has iritated me throughout the series with that smile/ grimace, continually and at the most inappropriate times. She played the same sort of role in Last Tango in Halifax which also irritated me in the same way.
