I ove The Shining film, (the Stanley Kubrick version) but recently in a charity shop I saw a different version. I'd never heard of there being a different one! I didn't buy it because it said it was part 2. Anyway I looked it up on internet when I got home and apparently it was a mini-series and made by Stephen King. In the credits it had listed "some actor" (forgotten his name) as playing Danny aged 18! I have never read the book and always assumed it ended when the film did, obviously not! Has anyone seen the mini-series? Is it worth watching? How different is it? thanks
(sorry to go on) lol

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118460/ Little bit of info here.

The bit where Danny is 18, is at his graduation or something similar. and his Dad is there (ghost of course), and he just looks on proud. Danny can see him, but noone else can

I caught it on tv a while ago, and only caught bits of it, and thats the only bit that stands out.

I havent read the book either, (read most of Kings books though)

thats the board for the mini-series with people grumbling and liking this version

Hi Cat,

This version was on one of the Sky channels around 1 year ago and I really enjoyed it. The film *is* the same in essence just JDU is correct in saying that after what we know is the end, you see Danny graduating and his ghostly father being there cheering him on :)
