Female Pundits On Men’s Football
68 Answers
I wonder how the number of people wanting female pundits on men’s football compares to the number of people who (like me) don’t want them. Are there as many male pundits on televised women’s football? I suspect not, but am prepared to be corrected

Well I am female and a football supporter but I actually came on here to ask exactly the same question! Really find them irritating and whoever thought they were being inclusive has got this one badly wrong.

I can't answer that question, Cloverjo, but it depends on how much the job would appeal to anyone, never mind a woman. There are lots of rules to learn, lots of time stood out in the sun (if you're lucky!); county cricket umpires have a four day job don't they? And for test umpires, lots of international travel followed by a five day watch. There may well be a few women who officiate in local league cricket. Might be worth Googling

Most punditry and commentating is twaddle, claptrap and opinion, often wrong and stupid and sometimes irritating. Men have demonstrated their adeptness at talking absolute crap for decades.
Now we have a flourishing Women’s football game, and knowledgeable women able to talk about it, then of course they should be employed to do so.
The bar has been set incredibly low by the men. I suspect those against the idea are just frightened of the women being better at it than the men, which is almost inevitable.
