Baptiste

Just finished watching the last episode of the final series of Baptiste and i have to say, compared to previous series, what a crock of old pooh! So contrived, sometimes quite badly acted - even from the lead players - and the bad guy's 'master plan' was laughable. Why did i stay with it until the end? Because it was the last ever series and i hoped (in vain) it would improve. Anyone else watched it through to the finish?

(Isn't everything blamed on Covid-19 these days though?). It seems that the scripts had to be re-written four times to enable filming to go ahead.

Chris, imho they would have been better advised to scrap the thing altogether. Rather that than go out on such a damp squib. Fiona Shaw is a fine actress but all she did throughout the 6 episodes was pull faces. Both she and Tcheky Karyo often appeared to have forgotten their lines - or they were overdoing the pregnant pause. And, as i said earlier, the villain's master-plan was hardly Blofeld-esque - more Baldrick-esque.
