The gas engineer has been and gone...my boiler is in good working order...and the heat is on. Just in time for the drop in temperature this morning. I've also got £140 on my electric PAYG metre, so that's warmth and light sorted. Now if anyone wants to send me a big Sainsbury's voucher, winter will be complete ;)...though my freezer is full of lovely meat. Those are reasons enough to be happy.

Happy Nellie here - I'm (apparently) hangover free after a "quite indulgent" session of bottle opening last night - something of a bonus as I feared that I'd be reaching for Captain CoCodamol and his fizzy friends ....
