It’s sad the the Queen won’t be at the Cenotaph for today’s service , this must be the first time she has missed laying her wreath, at 95 years old I’m afraid her age has now caught up on her

I've a feeling that the Queen has had the stuffing knocked out of her by Philip's death and is keeping going by sheer willpower. That can only go so far at her age and Charles knows that. I would not be totally surprised to hear of her passing. A desperately sad year for them. I, too, hope that Charles has a few years of reigning and gives William time to grow into the...

Not at the cenotaph but looking from a nearby balcony if the press reports are to be believed.
Update Queen will not be in attendance this year due to a sparined back.

Thanks, Fibo.
I well remember when Charles Philip Arthur George was born. That makes me feel very very old!

I hate to say this of such a hardworking lovely lady but I think stuff coming from the palace now is just a whitewash and our Queen is quite poorly ( I hope I’m wrong)
Happy 73rd to a fellow Burnley fan. :-)

Is he? How did that come about Ken ?
The Queen hasn't laid a wreath at the Cenotaph for a while now. I think Prince Charles or someone else does it on her behalf. She watches from a balcony these days. I imagine she's very disappointed not to be able to be there today. I too wonder if there's more going on with her health than we know.

Well I never ael ;0))
Bobs, old Chas - as we friends call him ;-) - just can't keep away from the town. In particular the 'Weaver's Triangle' area of he Leeds/Liverpool canal. When he first visited, the 'WT' had more or less just begun to be renovated and he became very interested. His 3 later visits came at various stages of the renovation. In between his visits he was sent regular updates on how the renovation work was progressing. On one of those visits, he visited Turf Moor and it was then he declared himself a 'Clarets' fan.
The colours 'claret and blue' must have a particular significance in the Windsor family. Wills is a Villa fan :-)

That’s quite interesting Ken, you’d have thought they would align themselves to aLondon Club
sadly' old Chas' hasn't had much to celebrate re his allegiance to Burnley fc . . .

Could be worse, he could support the Toon :0(
Six consecutive seasons in the Prem, during which we had a brief European adventure. Not bad for a small town club working to a very, very tight budget. We are one of the best supported clubs in English football per capita - ave attendance 20,000 from a population of around 73,000.
Put that in yer pipe, ael :-)
I thought that Charles looked desperately sad this morning.
hellywelly4 I thought he looked incredibly old this morning. Lot resting on his shoulders methinks.
fair enough Ken :-)
