Did anyone watch Daniel Craig in this "drama" on C4 last night? Gave it a go, but I've obviously still got Daniel Craig as James Bond in my mind. Switched over after half an hour.

I think so. He's playing a very different character.

Think if I hadn't had James Bond in my mind I might have enjoyed it. Old fashioned detective in the same mould as Sherlock Holmes.

I'd be put off more by the trailer than the fact Craig is synonymous with Bond. Unless Craig is playing the part in the style of bond, of course. Some actors can convince in a variety of roles, some (John Wayne for example) always appear to be playing themselves.
Anyone who watched the recent series The Responder will tell you that Martin Freeman buried John Watson and Bilbo Baggins for good with his outstanding performance.
