i actually ended up watching the scoring as nothing else on tv , i thought the 3 host were absolutely awful they couldn't adlib and just looked lost half the time .

I came in about 1/3 through and found them to be quite stiff. I didn't realise Mika was....Mika, until I read it here.

I think the female host was taken ill about 2/3rds of the way through it.
She looked dreadful when she came back in at the end and Mika was obviously concerned about her.

I didn't watch the show, but I do know from having attended TV shoots, that 'live' shows are a nightmare.

People in front of camera have loads of talk-back coming into their ears constantly, some for them, some for camera crew, some for floor crew.

They have to 'tune out' information that is not for them, but ensure they do hear information that is for them, and simultaniously talk to the audience.

It's quite a skill, and people have it to varying degrees, some make it look effortless, some have a rabbit-in-headlights look as they fail to do the two tasks at once.

As I said, I didn't watch the show, but they may have had presenters who are not at the level of most of our UK professionals on live TV.
