Revisiting Old Movies
61 Answers
Do you ever watch old movies again - or are you a 'watch once and that's that' kind of person?
After many years we revisited 'The Green Mile' last night. I'd forgotten how utterly superb it is.

In recent years, Hollywood is trying to advertise & promote homosexuality & exaggerated feminism (I have no problem with feminism itself but what film industry shows is over-exaggerated ) in their movies both of them tastes disgusting to me. That way, I stick to collecting or re-watching those old pleasant movies.
Another thing is that I kind of like Korean film industry but they have this problem of being too lengthy.
The Green Mile you mentioned I have watched it 6 times on TV. I like it very much but I don't think I watch it again after 6 times.
My playlist is like this:
The Martian
The Matrix (Episodes)
A clockwork orange
The shining
Cast Away
Alien (Episodes)
Enter The Dragon
Love in the time of Cholera
The Others
The Cloverfield (Episodes)
The Cold Fish (2010)
The Lost Strait (2018) & ...
If you want, I can suggest you a few Korean movies to taste:
*My Way (2011) Fantastic action historic war drama about a Japanese & a Korean prof. runner who gets badly into the WWII's mess.
* The Wailing (2016) a chilling horror mystery masterpiece.
*Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum (2018) another chilling horror mystery movie in a found-footage style. Don't watch it with lights off!
*A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) A must watch! Psycho. horror Drama
And hey don't forget the legendary Sympathy Trilogy.

Most films I watch once but there are a relative few that I can watch over and over. EG, Apollo 13, Independence day, most of the 50s classic Sci Fi, all the bond films except Skyfall, most of the star trek films, especially the even numbered ones. The 2009 reboot is watched the most. The original 3 Star Wars films.....and others.
For me it’s Atonement.
Affected me for weeks after watching it, still does now.
Reminded me of my grandparents during WWII and how it must have been for countless millions during that time.
Plus the Dunkirk scene is for me one of the most iconic in British cinema history.
I won’t put a spoiler up, just glad I hadn’t read the book beforehand.

The film i have (and will continue to) watched over and again is Last Of The Mohicans. Great scenery, great acting, great script and great incidental music.
Slightly off-topic; over 60 of Stephen King's works (novels, novellas and shorts) have been adapted for the big and small screen. Aside from the 2 already mentioned, here's a few more, some more recognisable than others, no doubt;
Carrie, Christine, It, The Stand, Stand By Me, The Shining, Dolores Claiburne, Gerald's Game, Hearts In Atlantis, 1922, Doctor Sleep, Salem's Lot..... i could go on. But i won't:-))
