Do you ever watch old movies again - or are you a 'watch once and that's that' kind of person?

After many years we revisited 'The Green Mile' last night. I'd forgotten how utterly superb it is.

In our house for what seems years now. The Goonies . A classic .
Dolores Claiburne Is also brilliant with Kathy Bates.
Another film i have watched several times is Apocalypto. It is sub-titled but that shouldn't put anyone off as it really is a good film. A peaceful tribe of Mayans is attacked by a band of warriors for sacrifice and slavery. Bear Paw hides his pregnant wife and young child in a deep hole but is then captured during the ensuing battle.
And, if i go further, i risk spoilers......

Though the actors are unknown (to us at least) the film was directed by Mel Gibson.
Arky, King wrote DC and Gerald's Game in the same year - '92 - and he eerily references the former in the latter. Quite spooky, really.
Gerald's Game is one of the few I’ve never heard of.
I will rewatch certain films- The Green Mile is one, it's a great film. Never got into Shawshank...
I also like The Life of David Gale, Apollo 13, Love Actually, My Sisters Keeper... they keep you thinking after they have finished.
i've watched Zulu loads of times another film i love is dances with wolves and the bodyguard .
Not a film, but I do revisit The Sopranos regularly in the vain hope that the ending will have been changed after all the time I invested. :-)
Gerald's Game; husband and wife in their secluded holiday shack performing a bit of 'kinky' bedroom Olympics (she is handcuffed to the bed) when he suffers a massive heart attack and dies. And the story begins........
Thanks I had just looked it up.
But of course.Good movies are similar to comfort food. I find the genre that suits my mood at a given time and indulge myself.
It's OK, not spectacular.
I've only seen Cujo once, couldn't watch it again. Another SK book/film.
The original Poseiden Adventure is on, on Ch5 now if anyone is interested. I've seen that a few times along with The Towering Inferno. Two classic disaster movies.
2 flix I could never tire of watching are Amelie+ the good, the bad+ the ugly!
I finally watched 'The Green mile' brilliant I almost changed my mind when I saw its three hours long but thought I'd have an 'Intermission'... I didn't.
Sunshine Boys the original with Walter and George for me
My list

Schindlers List
Dr zhivago
An officer and a gentleman
Dirty Dancing
The king and I
Love actually

And probably others!

I ONLY watch old movies - I do enjoy an old Western in the afternoon, Randolph Scott or Audie Murphy. I must have watched "The Tall T" a dozen times.

Burt Lancaster's "Valdez is Coming" used to be on twice a week but seems to have fallen out of favour. Burt was a great actor - so many superb films.

Oh, yes. Schindler's list. That has to go on the list. I've been privileged to visit his factory in Poland where it all happened - and exceedingly privileged to lay a stone on his grave in Jerusalem.
