In 100 years time, if not sooner, I can't see the Royal Family occupying its current constitutional role. It makes no logical sense and the institution cannot withstand 24 hour news and social media.
harry was described as an "action hero" by the press at the time he was in afghanistan... he always confirmed that he had killed taliban the only thing that's new is that he's said 25
but that's not why people are angry... they are angry because he has described the monarchy - an institution he is better acquainted with than any of us - as being cruel and exploitative and described the king, queen consort and the prince of wales - people he knows intimately well - as being calculating and unsympathetic
that is his real crime... that's what really upsets people. he has had a go at the monarchy from an informed perspective... he's revealed our nation's doll collection as the damaged and miserable people they actually are... and monarchists hate it and will never forgive him for it
I decided to watch the interview so I could look at it from all directions yet all I glean from it is he blames everyone and takes no responsibility for his own actions throughout the saga
Much of what was said in the Oprah Winfrey interview was later found to be false or not quite as portrayed so some of this may need to be taken with a pinch of salt. Only seen the bits on the news but why didn't the interviewers on both shows get him to verify some of the accusations he made, like asking him to say why William hit him etc.
Because it's just a highish-stakes game he's playing and the interviewers need to not rock the boat lest they lose the ability to fill up airtime with something other than strikes and Ukraine.
When Tom Bradby asked him about saying the RF were racist he shook his head and said something to get out of it.
Why didn't Bradby remind him what he and Meghan said to Oprah and why did they receive an award at the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award Gala in New York City? The couple was honoured with the award for their work in racial justice.
Perhaps Bradby should have asked them what they have done to receive that.
You mean they were frightened of upsetting him douglas9401 in case he pulled the plug on the interview. Which in some ways would have made it look worse for him.
To turn it to you untitled, Do you think he’s the innocent in this?
My own opinion is he has played it out on American TV and now British TV for cash, he’s sold his story(s) to the highest bidders, he could be causing danger to both the Royal family and those in the armed services,he *fled* ( his words) this country to get away from the press/ media yet all he’s done is to court them ….that’s why I say he blames everyone but takes none of it himself
Surely Tom Bradby would have been told which questions he could and couldn't ask and certain things were not spoken of, like the children Archie and Lilibet.
Ask him what happened after Meghan had a miscarriage.
There is a story I read about this but I'm not going to repeat it as I haven't heard it from the horse's mouth.
