I've never watched even a single episode but I'm hearing so much praise for it now I'm thinking perhaps I missed something. Did I - and should I watch from the very beginning (if it's available)?

I can remember back to the first episode when Catherine put that sheep out of its misery with a huge rock.

I'm not going to look at this thread again for fear of reading something that spoils the surprise/tension/enjoyment/mystery/cliff-hangers - but thanks so much for all your helpful comments - and I will use sub-titles. Many thanks all. I'm looking forward to it.
THAt was the 2nd series tilly
Just been informed - again by local radio - that 5 different endings have been filmed so that none of the cast/production crew can release any spoilers.
I was the same as Naomi and had never watched it until this last series started. I have binge watched the lot and cannot wait until tonight's finale! So many theories rushing round my head as to how it will end!
'This (last) season is the third, rocky'

Lol. I would have sworn I saw 5 on iplayer
Was it, Bednobs? Perhaps we didn't watch the first series. I'll have a look on Iplayer.
I have just watched the first ever episode. Apparently, we didn't watch the first series.

So, I have almost all the first series to watch when I've finished with series one. Goody gumdrops. Thanks Bednobs.
Ken @12.46, I don't know if that's an old joke, but it made me laugh.

Ken @13.14 , I read that isn't true and Sarah Lancashire and James Norton both know how it will end as he (James)said he found it really difficult to keep the ending from his father.
//// Everybody is raving about how good it is? ////

Ridiculous hyperbole.
Goody goody gumdrops - haven't heard that for years Tilly!
Canary, I can honestly say, and I'm not jesting, that I have never read anything by anyone that hasn't been positive about this programme.
A very close friend of mine had never watched it as she reckons she doesn't like cop shows,(her words) but just watching one episode of this series has persuaded her to now watch it from the beginning.
Is it a programme you don't like?
Lottie, I think Tilly went to the same school as Miranda Hart. :-) x
Miranda went to Downe House. I didn't.
T'was only a joke Tilly, that's why I put a smiley face.
I know, Barsel. My response was not meant to sound sharp.
Sorry.
forgot to record it and watched effin vera instead!!!!
Canary, if it's not to your taste just say so. To say that the praise it's been getting and the number of positive posts on AB is hyperbolic is.....as you said....ridiculous
Phew! I can relax now. Brilliant.
Me too, Helly!
