No.14 How the dog asks for a treat, maybe (4,3,8) and Excessive crowding (10).
No. 18 A hard felt hat (9), to rhyme with ROCK ( I think).

My brain has switched off, is in overload mode, and having exhausted all obvious avenues has given up.
Any clues would be much appreciated.

Thank you, jj109. I wasn't confident in the answer I had. I've never heard of gunny, and even Google failed me on that one. I do try not to ask on here unless I've tried all other avenues first.
