In the film they are portrayed as experienced climbers and would in reality have easily got out of that situation. ...But it's a film and like all films it's fantasy to create a situation. I really enjoyed it TBF so I guess it worked! Plot holes are just a lot more obvious when the viewer is familiar with the subject matter.
I don't do Netflix either but I am sure this film was part shown on Gogglebox some months back. Have to say I would not watch this type of film of my own choice but we are all different. At the very end of the film I asked myself why they had bothered to make it. naomi, I am glad you enjoyed it though, we all need a bit of escapism every now and then :)
I don't understand the 'why?' in your post, choux. Why do they bother to make films about zombies or vampires - not my sort of thing at all but some people like them.
I'd never heard of it until, like you, I saw a clip on gogglebox. The making of it is interesting. That tower really does exist - somewhere in California - but obviously a much shorter mock-up was constructed for the movie.
Very subjective, that is "why" (heaven forbid I should disclose the ending lol). We have a lot of DVDS and they cover a wide range of subjects, naomi. Depends a lot on what mood I may be in, but I can always find something to amuse/entertain me.
Still a fan of B&W movies and love some of the old classics. If I see one listed in the RT I am bound to watch it, even if I have the DVD!
Just trying to recall the last time I went to a cinema - it wasn't this century.
I watched this months ago, before the gogglebox clip and I loved it, I think it's a great escape movie to watch more with the 'girls' who just want to go "oh I can't look" than someone that reads too much into it, I say it that way as trying to watch movies with the guys, they're looking for holes everywhere in it.
Choux, I went to cinema on 'cinema day' last Saturday, hadn't been for years before that, I had forgotten the great experience you get from going to cinema, I was like a child all over again :) only this time, I wasn't going to Snow White ha ..went to see Oppenheimer
That's true for me as well Ducksie. One of my male neighbours comes into my flat to play with or walk my dog. After he's rolled around the floor with said dog he will look at the tv and ask why I'm watching whatever. Same with Fall, looked at me as if I was mad. He just couldn't understand what I saw in it. And that applies to most programmes that have been on when he's here. Even the News.
LB, glad I'm not alone with the way some men and women see a movie, my brothers are the worst to watch movies with
Choux, Snow White was a movie all the family went to one Saturday, was the matinee - I loved it but called it, Snow White and the Seven warts as that was what i thought my parents were saying and at the time, my hands and face were covered in them.
Stuff I've never heard of Naomi which of course I can't remember. I'll ask for some specifics when I next see him and let you know. I do know he sometimes watches a whole film before he gets up in the morning, on the days he's not at his gym by 4.30am.
No, you're not alone Ducksie.
