The money raised was going to charity - could they periodically auction the same items over & over and raise a lot more?

I'm intrigued why anyone would want something like this. 

What would you do with it, bring it out at dinner parties?

I remember covering a Queen fan club convention once, and saw a woman gey a leotard Freddie Mercury had worn at Hyde Park, and the fact it was unwashed (!) apparently added to the value!!

She paid £600, you could probably quadruple that now.

When I left her, she was ringing her husband who is not a Queen fan, to advise him that they were selling the car!
