Soapstar superstars

I watched it last night for the first time and while I think it takes a lot of nerve to do that I think they should realize their limitations. I have watched celebrity stars in their eyes and been impressed with some of the soap stars but superstars in my opinion is rubbish. Some of them just cannot sing, the songs are much too hard for them to get a grip with. I do like Cilla Black but couldn't believe that she was telling them how good they were. I had to switch off before the end as I felt embarrassed for them.

Good for you maggie, for having the guts to actually say what some of us have probably been thinking (and doing!) since this series started!

I wanted to watch it out of curiosity more than anything as some soap stars have pretty good voices, but this lot� The only one who has a decent voice is Roxanne, the rest are as you say - rubbish. Cilla Black is embarrassing beyond belief in her false and simpering praise, especially to that young Richard. Talk about cringe, I reach for the mute when it's her turn.

This seems to be a programme idea that sounded good in discussion, but has failed to deliver for the simple reason that being an actor does not mean you can sing, any more than being a writer means you can fix your word processor.

Hopefully ITV will realise from the draining viewing figures that this is a pup, and try something else.

Thank goodness for that Denise. I couldn't stand the thought of two Sharon Osbornes. One is quite enough.

I beg to differ. Why should'nt the soaps stars give it a go if they want to? Richard won "Celebrity Soap Stars when he was just about 12. I think he's very talented both at acting and singing likewise Roxy. I dont for one moment believe that Cilla is trying to be another Sharon Osbourne,perish the thought! If you dont like the programme press the magic button.

I think it is quite nice entertainment. Some of them have good voices but i think whoever chooses the songs is a sadist! They are awful. I am fascinated by Cilla's face, she seems to have two sets of cheek bones. Her face moves in the strangest directions.Has she had surgery?

I agree with FINA and lynbrown. I watch it for what it is harmless,enjoyable light entertainment. This programme is not Pop Idol or the like. It is a group of already famous Soap Stars trying to raise money for charity. No one is being exploited what is the harm in it? Still if we all liked the same things life would be boring.

I think they have to have someone like cilla - imagine it if the judges were, simon cowel, nigel lythgoe and richard parks (from fame academy - i think thats his name) the celebs would be ambushed every time and crumple withpout having their egos stroked -

i would love to see that actually - those 3 fighting to get the best dig in!

perhaps they should have a competition for the judges

to see who can destroy the most contestants.

i think most of the celebs have got a passable voice and can hold a tune, but none really have the singing X-factor.

and whats with wendi peter larry the lamb warbling at the end of each note? i thought she used to be in musicals? she should be sounding like liza minelli! lol

maybe slightly off topic but does anyone know where i could download a copy of the show... i missed last nights and really enjoy it myself.

for the sake of the argument these things are basically cheapo tv for ITV to fill time with but u cant deny there's an entertainment factor in it. for me who has a site dedicated to a soapstar i feel it's the only place u get to see the smaller stars who dont appear on chat shows at all.

if anyone can let me know a torrent site for this show please get in touch or reply here. thanx in advance.
