Late night horror

I remember, a good few years ago now watching a play on TV. It was a horror about a couple who bought a cottage and started renevating it. Bricked up in a wall they come across the mumified remains of a "child" although the child is not human. The long and the short of it is the "childs" mother - some ungodly creature, came back for it and began to suckle it ...... anybody got any ideas as to whay it was I was watching?

Hi there. I remember being absolutely terrified by this programme, as a child. I still get shivers thinking of the thing in the rocking chair at the end. I had always thought that it was one of the 'Armchair Thriller' episodes but couldn't trace it. It turns out it was in a similar series called 'Beasts', and that episode was called 'Baby'.

Yes that rings a bell! thank you. The bit in it that scared me to death was when the "beast" came back for the baby and one of the couple got up to see what the noise was and as they looked down the stairs a black shroud was seen just disapearing into the downstairs room. It's always haunted me and one of the reasons if I hear anything downstairs in my house late at night I NEVER go to investigate.
