He will be sorely missed, and what a player

What an amazing life he lived. His legacy will help so many people who have MND. I have been watching the BBC and was astounded to hear that 6 people will receive a diagnosis of MND today, an insidious disease for which, unbelievably, there is neither a cure nor treatment. What Rob, his family and many supporters have achieved is wonderful and the Centre to be built within the year in his name will provide essential help for those who will need it.

I do wonder if the fact that Stephen Hawking lived for 55 years after his diagnosis had somehow made the public complacent about the disease. I remember the first time I heard of MND was the death of David Niven in 1983 and I had to find out more about it. 

When families like Rob's and the late Doddie Weir's decide to go very public about the struggle they face I take my hat off to them for it shows a generosity of spirit and desire to help others.

My condolences to his wife, young children and all his family and friends. RIP Rob.

RIP Rob who along with his best friend Kevin Sinfield helped raise £15 million for MND charities.

It's incredible to think that it's only 7 years since he lifted the Championship Trophy. Such a rapid decline and such a sad loss. RIP.

I only heard this morning, I found myself crying.  

Brave man, wonderful friends. To those who never saw Rob, Kev and Jamie in action - he was a brilliant player who seemed to be everywhere on the pitch at once.

My thoughts are with his wife, family and friends. R.I.P..

Sadly more and more men will be diagnosed with mnd in the coming years, not unless theres some control set in place in Rugby!! I am not convinced that protective head gear is the only way forward!

I know someone who has never played rugby and has MND. The rules are very, very specific now.
