The questions were multuple choice - the contestant had amassed only £1000 in the cash builder and was dire at the table, leaving only one person with £5000 in the final chase. The questions Shaun failed on would have been easily answered by most at any pub quiz. Statistics or not, I think Shaun was being kind in trying to make some sort of a match of it not least for entertainment's sake.
