What does the winner on Takeshi's Castle actually win?

I dont know coz I still have never seen a winner. Its gotta be something big for something so impossible to win. I love that show though. especially the voice overs. They make me laugh so much. I wonder how many people have been seriously injured on that show.

I saw someone win on Friday on Challenge and that's what made me ask.

You didn't miss much - just an announcement that someone had made it through to the castle and then it finished! - No mention of a prize though!

Apparently....

On the off chance that a contestant does win, by taking Takeshi's car out, the prize is 1,000,000 Yen which equates to roughly �5,000.

That doesnt seem enough to me for all the pain they go through.

Seen it being won a cuppla time but never seen or heard of any prize being presented.

Found my own answer now - 1,000,00 yen for winning (about �5000 as dcannon says) and then they introduced a 'Fighting Spirit Prize' of 100,000 yen (roughly �500) as there weren't enough people actually winning.
