The bit I always remember is when all the jumpers are 'holding hands' to form a ring and JN says " Theres another guy coming in from the right....he's coming in very fast". The picture then goes all jumbled as the guy hits JN, flipping him over, then he screams "I'm upside down!!!! I'm at 15000 feet and I'm upside down!!!". I think it was the only real moment he (almost) panicked!
John Noakes is a God amongst men.
You look at these childrens TV presenters nowadays with their daft haircuts and trendy clothes. They have no rough edges and most look like they would wet their pants at the thought of half of things Noakes took on.
Noakes had lived a bit and you could tell he probably liked a pint.
Peter Purves was cool aswell - big music fan and was really into punk and new wave - he was often to be found at sweaty gigs.
Saying all that i like that Geordie lad off Blue Peter - i think he was a trampoline champ before or soemthing.
