Why do some combinations of musical notes sound good together yet others do not?

I guess it has do do with the frequency of the notes??

The harmonics of a given note of the musical scale have harmonics which are similar to other notes. Notes that share the same or similar harmonic frequencies sound harmonious when played together. Looking at the harmonic series below shows that F and G have similar harmonic frequencies as the note C:

C = 65.41, 130.8, 196.2, 261.6, 327.0, 392.4
F = 87.31, 174.6, 261.9
G = 98.00, 196.0, 294.0, 393.0

This is only a sample of which there are many more shared harmonics in the musical scale.
