Did anyone watch the first episode of The Street on BBC1 last Thursday? I thought it was a good piece of drama, the first of six I think, from the same writer as Knocking Off, which was also brilliant.

It was the best tv drama I've seen for some time.

Excellent cast and writing.
Hi judiewudie, I really enjoyed it as well, it makes a change to have something decent to watch again during the week. He also done The Lakes which was another excellent drama.
Oooh I thought it was just a one off, nice one, I really enjoyed it :-)

4getmenot, look out for it next week, every week they tell a story about a different neighbour in The Street, next week it is the old man who was the witness. See this link:

Do you mean Clocking Off? I really enjoyed that series along with Playing the Field and there hasn't been anything as good since they finshed. Hope this lives up to expectations, I watched the first episode and I too thought it was good.

Sorry lola jax whatever was I thinking? Yes I think Jimmy McGovern wrote Clocking Off, The Lakes, and The Street among others. I think Playing the Field was written by Kay Mellor, but is very similar although not like Clocking Off, about different people each week. I will be watching next week, we could do with more dramas like this.
Hi, i missed this but i wanted to watch it, does anyone know if & when it's repeated before the next one?
