Watching the Pride & Prejudice TV series, particularly the performances of Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle, was for me like eating the finest food or drinking the finest wine - sheer bliss. I hung on their every word. The movie seemed so utterly flimsy in comparison. I didn't care two hoots for the central characters played by Kiera Knightley and Matthew Mcfadyen - it's as if they were children trying to replicate something way out of their league, and they failed dismally. Did anyone really prefer the film?

i definitely preferred Matthew to Colin - i really don't find him attractive......keira wasn't right tho....so didn't deserve an oscar nomination for it.......
having being made to watch both for work, i have to say that the film was a waste of time, and the guy playing darcy was rubbish
