Saturday mornings in the early 1990's either on Mike Reads show or the DLT show on Radio 1 was short stories narrated by someone with a somerset sort of accent, everyone in the storys had silly names i remember one as "Jarad" it was all very amusing,Kind of village life storys about jam and cockroaches. i have searched everywhere for info or even clips, can anyone help? Thanks

the narrator was called "Eric the Gardener", and he appeared on shows hosted by Kevin Greening on Saturdays & Sundays, also on occasions when Kevin covered other shows midweek.

Yep, it was definitely Kevin Greening's show. As I recall the stories were always in two parts, a record being played in the middle while "Eric" disappeared to let out his dog, Gripper. Takes me back a bit. :-)
