oldie, black and white (australia and England)

finished at about 3 o'clock and starred peter finch and some woman....i just saw the end of it....looked like a tear jerker...about two people who fly across the world to meet each other i think.......what was the name of the film?

Sounds like "A Town Like Alice" .The woman was Virginia McKenna.

He goes to England to find her , in the mean time she has gone to Australia to find him . It'll make sense if you see it again.

Yes it was A Town Like Alice. I've never seen the film before but read the book last year which I thought was FANTASTIC. The film was great but I couldn't believe that it ended there as there is SO much more in the book! (If you read the book then the title actually makes sense!).

Possibly the best book I have ever read! A real howler. It is by Nevil Shute and was written in the 50s so it is old fashioned ...but fabulous! The BBC also did a serial of this about 20 yrs ago which was very good if you ever see that going cheap in a DVD/Video shop.
