Somehow the fuss these pair have created irritates me.

They had a baby, enjoy her but do not turn a one day old baby into an advertising trick to support fading acting careers.

Do you think its wrong to exploit this baby?

Yes it is wrong but then if it wasn't for all those people who read trashy gossip mags or the people who have nothing else to do but talk about celebs then there would be no need for it all. I don't see why people go so crazy over it all. There just to people who happen to be in films who have just had a baby. So what.
As I understood it they are making people pay for photos of the baby so that they can raise money for charities. I don't know the details but it sounds like a good idea rather than letting the paps earn money out of it and the money will go to a good cause. It didn't occur to me that they are doing it for cynical reasons.
I dont really think they are making a fuss - I havent heard anything about the baby from either of them. They went away so that the baby could be born away from prying eyes and are planning to sell the photos to help baby charities

I have to pick you up on the faded film careers point. According to IMDB, Brad Pitt has one film on release, three in pre production and another three confirmed for 2006 alone. Seven films in six months is hardly the sign of a fading career. I would imagine his forthcoming role as Jesse James will be a blockbuster.

Angelina Jolie has made it known for years that she has little interest in the film business anymore and regularly turns down offers. Don't forget, she is an Oscar winner and one of the few actresses whose name can still pull in massive audiences.

I think the decision to raise money for charities is a creditable one. The paparazzi are going to take photographs of the infant regardless and the decision of this couple to pre-empt them seems sensible to me.

What role /and in which movie did Angelina Jolie win an Oscar for ??
She won a supporting actress Oscar for her role in Girl, Interrupted in 1999, alongside Winona Rider. She played a young sociopath in a mental institution.

I saw this on the bbc website and had to laugh.

A local human rights group accused the security services of using "heavy-handed tactics" to keep the paparazzi at bay.

makes me laugh really cause all babies look pretty much alike so why you'd want to pay upto 4million quid for a pic is beyond me. It is for a good cause though so i have mixed feelings but i think it is a bit exploitative.Oh well, if these mags want to pay that then its up to them, i'm not overly interested in what it looks like anyway.
Ah Drusilla1S your first post there said everything I was gonna say! lol

if they don't play the game with the paparazzi and allow pics to be taken, they will be hunted, chased, and hounded in order for one hack to be the first to sneakily get a picture, and sell it for a ridiculous amount as its the only one - that will be more hassle for them than to arrange an appearance for the baby at a time that suits them

best to get it out of the way, then the hack can move on to something else
