It would appear she was also having an affair with the third chap in the flat (Connor) and when the deaf lad (Dean) saw them together, he assumed Connor was the murderer and went after him.
The deaf girl, Jak, and Penny the interpreter arrived at the flat as Dean prepared to throw Connor over the balcony if he refused to tell the truth. Jak then confessed and the police arrived.
Penny asked Dean to come and stay at her house and he agreed. (Lovey dovey ending).
I thought Susan Lynch (Penny) was excellent and she should be on TV more often.

Drusilla I agree Lynch is very good and I'd like to see more of her on TV, but I'll also fess up and add that it's partly because I think she's strikingly beautiful and I can happily just sit there gazing at her.
She does a lot of theatre work and I think she's one of those actors who likes to maintain that, with an occasional TV show or film to keep the dosh coming in to buffer the less lucrative stage stuff. I've seen her on stage a few times and not only is she good there too, but is even more luscious in the flesh! (Look, I really am a supporter of the arts, honestly, not just a letch).
