On tonights 'The F word' on channel 4 their was a piece of music played while gordon ramsey prepared snails from his garden. It was an instumental that had a catchy bass line and was jazzy in feel. any ideas for a name of the piece? Many thanks in advance.

The answer was Dave Brubeck's unsquare dance. I only found out by accident. I happened to be listening to Radio 7. People like us was on and they play it at the end of that show. I looked on the bbc website and then on wekipedia and low and behold there is the answer!
