is anyone else watching this on Channel 4 tonight? What is everyone else thinking of it?
i couldnt quite believe the documentary bit on the Los Angeles gang, i thought that sounded horrendous, im jsut glad i dont live there! I just cant understand why someone would want to join a gang like that. i mean the initiation ceremony was being beaten up and kicked in basically for men, the for women its said to be gang rape. Then if you try to leave the gang you'll most likely be killed!

Yes the same thing!
Its teenagers filming what they want, and that 'chav' apparently has recieved cult status online with his character 'devvo'.
theyre jsut filming random stuff.

Did you see the bit where he spat on the childrens slide? He was gleefully explaining how funny it would be for children to slide down it and get that on them- people like this should be shot.

My thoughts exactly BOO but apparently he has 'cult status' and gets thousands of hits on which ever web site he comes from, no idea why. whats the joy in seeing that really?

The current 'Name that Drug' is mildly entertaining, but that chav just needed a slap. Apparently it's a show of "young people displaying their talent" - Oh dear... :o\

I do agree that the 'name the drug' feature was kind of funny. I am all for young people showing their talents and being able to have a chance to make a show on tv, but this is giving young people a bad name i feel!
Being 17 myself, i think this show is showing people the worst teens!! i just dont like how this show may well make some people stereotype teenagers into being 'into' stuff like this.
I understand what channel 4 have tried to do, but i think it has failed really.

Got to agree with you I'm afraid missjef - I'm sure there's plenty of under-18s who can produce much better, higher quality pieces of entertainment, but instead we get to see someone spitting, a bunch of people laughing about Class-A drugs and now someone trying to...what is that...rap?!

I did media at school and i dont once remember seeing anything that resembled that at all!!
Im sure there will always be a few that would wanna show stuff like that on tv, but i would say the majority of us 'teens' dont want any kind of association with anything like that!!
I would much prefer to see some teenagers media projects, or documentaries instead of this! Why not get a 'teen' to do a documentary about their weekend at a festival over the summer, i think that would be much better in my opinion, or film reviews or something that doesnt involve so much sex, violence or 'chavs'!!!

Thought it was bad tv, I know it is nice to know whats going on around the world, but whenever something like this is aired surley with the attitude of some of our own teenagers they are going to think, yeah why dont we make a gang as like this.
I am not saying it will, but their is always that possibility, and once one gang like this starts up more will follow.
If it was not shown in the first place then the ideas, would not get into our kids heads.
Just my view.
What they dont see they cant copy.

i can asure you that there is an awful lot of good stuff still to come in Whatever....

I personally travelled to washington to interveiw an extremist group but you will have to watch the show on sept 8th to see what i got upto and why my visit was so ironic..
