The outdoor scenes are filmed in Whitby and the hospital is in Scarborough

the inside was actually filmed in the old maternity hospital at st likes hospital in bradford.

The beach sceen today was practically infront of the building they use as the hospital. If you remember the news some years ago about The Holbeck Hotel collapsing into the sea, well that is close to it too. It's just passed the famous Spa on South Bay.
Should you visit, there is a lovely cafe The Clock Cafe, just above todays beach sceen and was actually in shot.

To be honest I'm not sure what it is. I've never noticed any ambulances there. Probably a Nursing Home or flats. The majority of buildings on that side of the road are flats across the road are houses. It is a very residential area. Sorry.
