Just saw this film and thought it was great. But I'm a little confused about the whole 'immigrants are bad' theme. Why were the borders closed and the illegal immigrants being rounded up? Did it have anything to do with the infertility?

I think it was just what could possibly happen in the future. Immigrants okay - illegal immigrants not okay. It was nothing to do with the fertility issue.

Any ideas who was doing Ruby Tuesday - it didn't sound like the Rolling Stones to us.
IMDB says it's performed by Franco Battiato, Machecoul. I was wondering that too!
I've just been to see it and I thought it was a poor film. No apparent connection or explanation of the link between the infertility and the political upheavals. I think the clampdown on immigrants was a side-effect of the nuclear wars and social collapse in Asia and Africa, but it is never explained how the lack of children would have caused it.
Thanks Maximo - you did better than me at finding it. I looked at IMDB !!! And everywhere else.
