I don't think that it is from any film. The original Buggles video of this record was the first video ever shown on MTV in 1981. Various remixes have been included in a number of films. One of the later ones was by a group called Presidents of the United States which was used in the American 1998 film The Wedding Singer. Is this the one you are thinking of ?

I'm fairly sure it was used a lot in the film Empire Records. I hope that helps!
