I must admit, while I knew it had a large and thriving gay community, I wasn't aware that living in Brighton automatically made you gay. Is it compulsory? Is someone transmitting homosexuality rays to the unsuspecting local populace? If so, how far do they reach? I only live about 30 miles along the coast and I want to know if I'm likely to experience the odd twinge in an easterly headwind.

I think the phrase in the male gay community is 'eating carpet'...and it refers to an actual carpet.. I will leave you to work it out...

I only live about 12 miles down the coast from Brighton and haven't yet 'caught the gay'. I also know many straight people who live there ;o)
