I have missed a couple of episodes and the catch ups on the bbc site don't tell you much!

I saw last nights though and was wondering - what is the story with Sam and the 14 yo prostitute - is he just helping her out or has this not been revealed yet?

Nope - he's on the level. He just wants to help hence he had arranged for her to stay with his parents. After all if there was some hanky panky - surely the doubters (mark, connie etc) would realise he's hardly likely to take someone home to witness it!!

He got involved with her when she came in for an operation under an assumed name and there was obviously something dodgy about the relationship with her 'father'.It turned out that he was her pimp.Sam helped her to get away from him.
Since then he has been helping her,knowing that if he rang social services that she would just disappear and end up on the streets again.
There was nothing sexual in the relationship even though Sam and Chrissie found Jade in Sam's bed when they went to his place.
