I didn't know what catagory to put this in. Sorry if it's a stupid question, but who or what is Dr Seuss? I've seen and heard him/ it being refered to lots of times, eg so and so is influenced by Dr Seuss. I know it's something to do with the new Mike Myers film 'The Cat in The Hat'. Is he a real Dr, why is he talked about? I did a quick search on the internet, but it just came up with a load of strange American 'Dr Seuss clubs'. Please explain.

"Dr Seuss" is the pseudonym of the author who wrote the books. I think his real name was Theodore... um... Geisel? Weisel? something
He was an American author of many children's books which remain popular to this day (they transcend generations!). He received impressive formal education at an Ivy League university, then at Oxford in England. Here is a little online biography of his life: http://www.seuss.org/seuss/seuss.bio.html
i think he's dead now though. try going to his website xxx
